You can personalise the Emma iron bed with a choice of self-colour or authentic brass finials. We recommend brass finials for a truly authentic “bedknobs and broomsticks” look, capturing that quintessential Victorian charm and timeless appeal.
Thanks to its generous height and proportions, the Emma iron bed works particularly well with both sprung and unsprung bed bases. A sprung bed base adds a softer, more cushioned feel, while an unsprung base provides firmer, more supportive comfort. These options also enhance the iron bed’s overall presence, complementing its tall, elegant structure.
To complete the experience, pair the Emma iron bed with one of our wool mattress options. A wool mattress provides breathable comfort, natural temperature regulation, and lasting support—perfectly complementing the iron bed frame.

The Emma iron bed captures the charm and nostalgia of a true “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” style piece within our iron bed collection. Inspired by classic Victorian design, this iron bed features hallmark details such as a high headboard and tailboard, elegant vertical lines, and gently curved ironwork. These elements define a Victorian-style iron bed, where decorative shaping meets strong, structured form to create a sense of both grandeur and comfort.
We designed the Emma iron bed to feel inviting and protective, making it the perfect place to curl up and unwind. Its high tailboard enhances this feeling, while also creating a striking silhouette in the room. The iron bed frame works beautifully with both sprung and unsprung bed bases, allowing you to tailor the level of support and comfort to suit your needs.
Crafted with the same care and attention as all our iron beds, Emma combines timeless style with lasting strength. Built from solid materials, it offers the durability needed for everyday life while maintaining its elegant appearance.
This iron bed was always destined to become a family favourite, and its name reflects that sense of warmth and familiarity. We named the Emma iron bed after our friends Peter and Linda’s third and youngest daughter, making it a design rooted in both tradition and personal connection. Over time, it’s a bed designed not just to be used, but to be lived with and passed down—becoming a true family treasure.

- Care instructions: Clean iron work with a damp cloth and gently wipe over surface. Heavy impacts may damage the powder coated finish.
Iron beds – powder-coated
- We recommend that you clean your metal bed frame with a fresh soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.
- Avoid cleaning products that may contain solvents or ammonia.
- Authentic brass details will tarnish over time. As our brass is unlacquered, it can be cleaned using a quality brass cleaner. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- As our iron beds are heavy, we recommend a minimum of two people when moving or handling your bed.
- Never drag your bed and always lift it using the side rails.
- Heavy impacts may damage the powder-coated finish.
- Please note that careless handling may cause damage.
As all of our beds are painstakingly handcrafted to order, our delivery times range from 4 to 12 weeks depending on the model you choose.
For mainland UK addresses, typical delivery times are as follows:
- Iron beds: 4 to 6 weeks
- Brass beds (excluding Rosie and Willow): 6 to 8 weeks
- Nickel and copper beds, and Rosie and Willow brass beds: 8 to 10 weeks
Occasionally, it may take longer to deliver your bed, although changes to your delivery will always be communicated with you.
You’ll receive an order confirmation via email within 72 hours, and our delivery team will aim to confirm a provisional delivery week shortly after. It is possible to request a specific delivery date: please call our showroom on 01485 542516 for more details and to check availability before placing your order.
We’re delighted to handle all of our own deliveries, which helps ensure a quality service. Our delivery team can assemble your bed in a room of your choice, and we’ll even make sure to remove all the packaging ready for a restful night’s sleep.
A signed delivery note will be required by our delivery team before they can leave. It should confirm that you’re happy with your new bed and everything is as expected. Please take a moment to check your goods carefully before signing.

As the only carbon-neutral iron bed maker, working towards a sustainable future has been at the heart of our family company since we began. Although it does require a large amount of packaging to ensure that your bed arrives in perfect condition, with your help, we can ensure that all materials are reused or disposed of properly.
As standard, our delivery team will unbox and unbag your goods so that they can take any packaging away with them. If you’d like your goods to remain in their original packaging, please let us know before your delivery team arrives and be sure to dispose of the packaging appropriately.
It can be tricky to choose the right bed, especially when it’s guaranteed to last a lifetime. So, we offer you a promise: we’ll exchange your bed free of charge if you decide it’s the wrong size, style or colour within 30 days of delivery.
Our 30-day sleep promise covers our full range of handcrafted wrought iron beds. All that we ask is that you have seen your bed in person, in the correct style and colour, at our showroom. The bed must also be ordered from us directly.
