BEHIND EVERY MATTRESS IS A FAMILY
The story of our mattresses begins in the British countryside, with the sheep, the land and the farming families behind the wool we use.
We buy our wool directly from British sheep farmers. A fair price is agreed before shearing, and the wool can be traced back to the farms and families it came from. From there, follow its journey into the hands of skilled British craftspeople. See the wool carefully hand-teased to open its fibres and create natural loft. Discover the craftsmanship behind each mattress, from drawing the wire for the springs through to the final stitch.

Every family business has a beginning. Ours started with a belief that beds could be made differently.

IRON BEDFRAME VS METAL BEDFRAME: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Not every metal bed frame is made in the same way. The materials and construction beneath the finish can make a significant difference.
In this video, we compare lightweight metal frames with the substantial iron construction we use for our beds.
Our frames have a substantial iron core, with solid bars, feet and joints. Where a design features brass, we use authentic brass. We source our raw materials from Britain and make every bed to order. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WOOL MATTRESS VS MEMORY FOAM
What you sleep on matters. In this video, we explore the differences between natural wool and memory foam mattresses.
We look at how each material behaves and why wool offers a naturally different approach to comfort. Wool is breathable and helps regulate temperature throughout the night. It can absorb and release moisture, helping create a comfortable sleeping environment. Unlike memory foam, wool does not rely on synthetic foam to create comfort. Its natural fibres provide softness, loft and resilience.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE GREEN
Making beds to last a lifetime also means thinking carefully about the impact of how we make them.
In this video, we share why we became carbon neutral and how we reuse our packaging wherever possible. For us, reusing materials is not about reducing overheads. It is about reducing waste and making better use of what we already have. The same thinking runs through the way we approach our business. We consider the materials we use, how we work and what happens after a bed leaves us.
We believe small, practical decisions can make a difference when they become part of how a business operates.
WHY WE USE AUTHENTIC BRASS
Brass is more than a colour or decorative finish. That is why we use authentic brass in our beds. In this video, we explain what makes real brass different and why the material itself matters.
We source our brass from British suppliers and mill it ourselves. This gives us control over the details that become part of each finished bed. Authentic brass also changes with time. It naturally tarnishes, developing the character and patina you would expect from the real material.
If you prefer a brighter finish, you can polish the brass to bring back its shine. For us, it comes down to using the right material rather than simply recreating its appearance.
