Grace
The Grace iron bed brings an elegant cottage-style look, shaped by simplicity and ease. Clean lines and balanced proportions give this iron bed a calm, relaxed character. As a result, it feels light, welcoming, and at home in both traditional and modern spaces.
The low headboard and low footboard define this iron bed frame. They reduce visual weight and keep the design open and uncluttered. Because of this, the Grace iron bed works especially well in smaller bedrooms or rooms with lower ceilings. It allows light to move freely and helps the space feel larger and more comfortable.
We craft each iron bed from solid British iron in our own workshop. This ensures strength, stability, and long-term durability. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, this iron bed frame offers a reassuring weight and quality you can feel every day. The proportions also make it practical, giving you more usable space without compromising on style.
Straight bars and subtle detailing reinforce its cottage-style appeal. The design avoids anything heavy or overworked. Instead, the iron bed frame creates a quiet, understated presence that suits a wide range of interiors.
This iron bed suits relaxed, everyday living. Pair it with natural textures, soft linens, and layered finishes to complete the look. For added comfort, choose one of our bedstead wool mattress options. A wool mattress sits directly on the slatted base, enhancing the bed’s breathable, supportive feel.

Grace’s Story
The story behind the Grace iron bed begins with an old English rhyme often called Monday’s Child. In the verse, it is said that “Tuesday’s child is full of grace.” When our founders’ son, Harry, was born on a Tuesday, the name stayed with them. Had he been a girl, Grace would have been her name. Instead, it became the name of this quietly elegant iron bed frame.
However, the Grace iron bed is more than a sentimental design. It was also shaped by customer requests. Over time, many people asked for a simpler iron bed. They wanted something lighter in appearance, with a lower headboard and fewer decorative elements. In response, Grace was created.
This iron bed frame sits naturally within our cottage-style bed collection. It feels at home in country houses, coastal homes, and relaxed family bedrooms. Its appeal lies in proportion rather than decoration. Every line is purposeful, and nothing is added without reason.
There is also an important distinction between an iron bed and a generic metal bed frame. Many metal beds are mass produced using thin tubing and imported materials. They are designed for speed, not longevity. In contrast, our iron beds are made from solid British iron and crafted to order in our own workshop.
As a result, the Grace iron bed offers reassuring weight, excellent stability, and long-term durability. It is a bed frame designed to last a lifetime. Like the Tuesday child it is named after, Grace carries an effortless elegance that never fades and never needs to shout for attention.
