It is important that you read these terms & conditions carefully because your order and use of this site are subject to them.

Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Company is a trading name of Iron and Brass Bed Company Limited (IBBC), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11595601, with its registered office at Marsh Farm, Church Road, Wolferton, Sandringham Estate PE31 6HB.

The name “Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Company” and its associated logo are trademarks and the property of Iron and Brass Bed Company Limited. All rights reserved.

These Terms and Conditions apply to all users of this website, including those who browse without making a purchase. By using this website, you agree to these terms, which come into effect on your first visit. IBBC reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on the website. If you place an order via our website, phone, or showroom, you are deemed to have accepted these terms in full.

Formation of the contract

A binding contract for the sale of goods will only be formed once you receive an order confirmation from IBBC detailing your purchase. This website is intended for personal, non-commercial use. IBBC only accepts orders for UK delivery addresses. For non-UK addresses, separate arrangements must be made via direct communication.

Provision of Information

To place an order, you must provide accurate and complete personal information, including your name, billing and delivery address, telephone number and email address. This information will be used to process and fulfil your order, contact you regarding your purchase and arrange delivery where required. Your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will not be shared with third parties except where necessary to process your order or where required by law.

Ordering goods

IBBC reserves the right to accept or reject orders at its sole discretion. Orders may be placed online, over the phone or in person. By placing an order through any of these methods, customers confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If an order appears to be for commercial resale without our prior agreement, we may cancel it and seek compensation for misuse.

All customers will receive a copy of their order summary by email within 24 hours of placing their order. Due to the made-to-order nature of our products, customers are responsible for checking that all details, specifications, sizes, finishes, colours and delivery information are correct.

Customers must confirm that their order details are correct before production can begin. Estimated lead times will not begin until order confirmation is received from the customer.

Customers have 7 calendar days from the date they confirm their order to notify us of any amendments they wish to make. After this period, changes may not be possible, and additional charges may apply where raw materials have been ordered, manufacturing has commenced, or costs have already been incurred.

Product descriptions, dimensions and imagery are provided for guidance only. Colour, finish, material and size variations may occur due to the handmade nature of our products. We reserve the right to alter specifications or substitute products of equal quality and value in the event of availability issues.

Pricing & Discounts

All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT. Prices exclude delivery charges unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change prices and promotions at any time. If a pricing error is identified, we will notify you and offer you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order.

In accordance with the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we are committed to ensuring all pricing information provided is clear, accurate and not misleading. If a genuine pricing error has occurred, we will contact you promptly and give you the opportunity to either proceed with the order at the correct price or cancel it. We are under no obligation to honour pricing mistakes that are obvious and unmistakable.

Discounts and promotional offers are subject to availability and may be withdrawn or amended at any time without notice. Unless otherwise stated, all discounts are subject to a minimum spend of £1,000 and apply only to full-priced items. Discounts exclude delivery charges, assembly fees, bespoke alterations and any other service-related costs.

All discounts and promotional codes must be applied at the time of ordering and cannot be added retrospectively. Only one discount or promotional offer may be used per order, and offers cannot be combined. Discounts are non-transferable, have no cash value and are valid only for the specified period or while available.

Payment

Due to the bespoke nature of our products, full payment is required at the time of order. We accept all major credit and debit cards for online, phone, and in-store purchases. All payments must be successfully processed before your order is confirmed and production begins.

By placing an order, you confirm that the payment method used belongs to you or that you have been authorised by the owner of the card to use it. We use secure third-party payment gateways to ensure your card details are processed safely and in compliance with current financial regulations.

IBBC does not accept cheque payments, or cash on delivery for retail orders. Trade accounts and bulk orders may be eligible for alternative payment arrangements by prior agreement. Please note that IBBC will not dispatch any items or commence fabrication on bespoke orders until full cleared payment has been received.

In the unlikely event of a payment dispute or chargeback, IBBC reserves the right to suspend or cancel any outstanding orders until the issue is resolved. Legal action may be taken to recover funds or products where appropriate.

Availability

IBBC endeavours to keep stock information as accurate as possible. However, as many of our products are made to order, availability may be subject to change without prior notice. In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if an item you order is no longer available or cannot be delivered within a reasonable timeframe, we will inform you as soon as possible and offer you the option to:

  • Wait for the item to become available,
  • Select an alternative product of equal value, or
  • Cancel the order and receive a full refund.

If a product becomes unavailable after your order has been accepted, you will not be charged for the unavailable item. Any refund due will be processed promptly and within 14 days. Bespoke items may be subject to longer lead times due to the sourcing of materials or production schedules. Lead times are provided in good faith but may be extended due to factors outside of our control. Customers will be notified of any expected delays.

Delivery

Delivery charges vary depending on postcode and delivery destination.

Once your order is ready, we will contact you to arrange a delivery date and estimated time window. While we always aim to meet estimated delivery dates, these are indicative only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to factors outside our control, including courier issues, customs delays, extreme weather, supply chain disruption, manufacturing delays or other unforeseen circumstances. IBBC will not be liable for delays caused by such events.

All deliveries require a signature upon receipt. You are responsible for ensuring that someone is available to receive and sign for the delivery on the agreed delivery date.

A customer’s no-show on an agreed delivery date will result in a re-delivery charge. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all delivery details provided are accurate and complete. If delivery cannot be completed due to incorrect delivery information, restricted access, or because no one is available to accept the delivery, a re-delivery charge will apply. Redelivery will be arranged for the next available delivery date.

Please inspect your goods as soon as possible after delivery. Any visible damage to the packaging or goods should be noted on the delivery receipt, where possible, and reported to IBBC within 48 hours of delivery, along with supporting photographs. Failure to report delivery-related damage within this timeframe may affect our ability to investigate the issue and your eligibility for repair, replacement, or refund.

If delivery cannot be completed because access is restricted, the goods do not fit into the property, or appropriate assistance is not available where required, additional delivery charges may apply. Customers are responsible for checking that ordered items will fit through doorways, staircases, hallways and into the intended room before placing an order.

Deliveries to remote areas, the Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland and international destinations may be subject to longer lead times and additional delivery charges. Customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes or import fees applicable to deliveries outside the UK.

If you have specific delivery requirements, these should be communicated at the time of ordering. We will do our best to accommodate such requests, but we cannot guarantee amendments once dispatch arrangements have been confirmed.

Bedframe Guarantee

To demonstrate our commitment to exceptional quality, IBBC offers a lifetime guarantee on all bed frames purchased directly from us, through an appointed stockist, and delivered by our team or an appointed courier. This guarantee covers defects in materials or craftsmanship that become apparent during normal domestic use.

If a fault arises due to poor workmanship or defective materials, we will, at our discretion, repair or replace the item free of charge. This guarantee is valid for one replacement per bed frame only. Normal wear and tear, damage resulting from misuse, or failure to follow care instructions are not covered under this policy.

The guarantee becomes active on the date the customer receives the product, provided that IBBC has received a signed delivery note. The guarantee applies only to the original purchaser and original delivery address and cannot be transferred, assigned or passed to any subsequent owner. Failure to register will invalidate the guarantee.

To make a claim, please submit a written request by email or recorded post within seven days of the issue becoming apparent. Your claim must include the original proof of purchase (invoice or sales receipt) and photographic evidence of the defect.

This guarantee does not cover slats, bed bases, bed knobs, mattresses, bedding, the natural tarnishing of brass or the development of a natural patina over time. Variations in finish, colour ageing and surface appearance caused by normal use and the ageing process are not considered faults or defects under this guarantee.

The guarantee also does not apply where a bed frame is used in a hospitality, trade or commercial setting without prior notification or purchase through our trade programme.

The lifetime guarantee is available only for orders delivered within the mainland United Kingdom and does not apply to export orders. For the purposes of this guarantee, an export order is any order delivered outside the United Kingdom mainland.

IBBC reserves the right to refuse repair or replacement if the product is found to be in an unhygienic or unsanitary condition. If the bed frame model has been discontinued or cannot be repaired, we may offer a suitable alternative of equivalent value.

Guarantee coverage begins from the date of delivery and is conditional on the provision of a signed delivery note. If a signed delivery note is not supplied, the guarantee will be rendered void.

This lifetime guarantee operates in accordance with and in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable English laws. It does not affect or replace those legal protections.

Manufacturers Tolerance

Due to the handmade and made-to-order nature of our products, slight variations in dimensions, finish, colour, detailing, and overall appearance may occur and will not be considered faults or defects.

A manufacturing tolerance of up to 2cm applies to all bed frames and related furniture items. A manufacturing tolerance of up to 4cm applies to mattresses due to the nature of upholstery, fillings and settling during transit and use.

Natural variations in metalwork, castings, welds, paint finishes, fabric appearance, wood grain, patina, distressing and hand-applied finishes may occur between showroom models, photographs and the final delivered product. Such variations form part of the character of handmade products and do not constitute a defect.

Measurements shown on the website, brochures and order confirmations are approximate only and may vary within normal manufacturing tolerances. Customers are responsible for ensuring there is sufficient access and space within the property to accommodate these tolerances.

Mattress and Bed Base Guarantees

These items are covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee against defects. Items must be inspected upon delivery, and any visible issues, damage, or faults must be reported within 48 hours, together with supporting photographs where possible.

As all mattresses are made to order, if a fault develops during the applicable guarantee period, the mattress will be inspected and, where appropriate, repaired by a suitably qualified technician. In line with your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we reserve the right to offer a repair as the first remedy where this is possible and proportionate.

If a repair is not possible, cannot be completed within a reasonable time, or would cause significant inconvenience, a replacement mattress will be offered. If a repair is carried out but does not satisfactorily resolve the fault, we will provide a replacement mattress.

This guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, fair wear and tear, normal settlement of fillings, or failure to follow the care and usage instructions provided. Non-compliance with care instructions will void the guarantee.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Right to cancel, returns and refunds

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you may cancel your order within 14 calendar days of placing it and receive a full refund. As all of our products are made to order and we do not hold stock, this cancellation period runs from the date the order is placed rather than from the delivery date.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify IBBC in writing via email or post within this period.

If you cancel your order more than 14 days after placing it, but before delivery has taken place, we reserve the right to make a deduction from your refund to reflect any costs already incurred, including materials ordered, labour undertaken, manufacturing commenced, or other work carried out in relation to your order.

After delivery, you retain the right to notify us of your intention to return your order. However, owing to the made-to-order and custom nature of our products, a reduced refund may be applicable, contingent upon the ease with which the goods can be resold. Any refund provided will correspond to the bespoke specifications, finish, colour, size, or modifications made to the item, and may be up to a maximum of 50% of the original order value.

In accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, bespoke, personalised and tailor-made items are exempt from the standard cancellation rights that would otherwise apply after delivery.

Please note the following return exclusions:

  • Mattresses, bed bases and bedding that have been unsealed, used or removed from their protective packaging are non-resealable for hygiene reasons. In these circumstances, a refund of up to 50% of the original purchase price may be offered.
  • Clearance, ex-display and end-of-line items are sold as seen and are non-returnable and non-refundable unless faulty.

If your product is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, you may have the right to request a repair or replacement, or to receive a refund, in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Given the made-to-order nature of our products, a repair will be offered initially, followed by a replacement, and, if necessary, a refund.

If IBBC determines that a returned item has been misused, damaged after delivery, or is not in a resaleable condition beyond what would reasonably be expected, we reserve the right to reduce the refund amount accordingly or reject the return entirely.

Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.

Intellectual Property

IBBC retains all intellectual property rights, whether registered or unregistered, in its products, designs, drawings, specifications, manufacturing methods, website content and marketing materials. This includes copyright, trademarks, design rights, database rights, trade dress, and any other proprietary rights arising from the appearance, styling, and construction of our products.

Customers, competitors and third parties must not copy, reproduce, adapt, reverse engineer, manufacture, commission, sell or distribute any product, design, feature or component that is substantially similar to an IBBC product without prior written consent.

IBBC reserves the right to take legal action against any person or business that infringes its intellectual property rights.

Availability of the site

While we aim for 24/7 site availability, service may be interrupted for maintenance or updates.

Links and third-party websites

IBBC accepts no responsibility for the content of external websites linked from this site.

Liability

Our liability for any claim arising from your order shall be limited to the purchase price paid for the goods. We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity or any other losses that were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was formed.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Force majeure

IBBC will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, labour shortages, supply chain disruption, courier delays, customs issues, utility failures, accidents, acts of government or any other unforeseen event.

Governing law

These terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Entire agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between IBBC and the customer and supersede any previous discussions, correspondence, representations or understandings between the parties.

No verbal statement, representation, promise or advice given by any employee, agent or third party shall vary these Terms and Conditions unless expressly confirmed in writing by a director of IBBC.
