From a passing comment
We’ve been hand crafting iron beds for over a decade. We are a small team, but we are like one big family. Our journey began whilst furnishing our new home, we purchased two beds for our sons that really did not match the expectations of what we had read on the company’s website. This got us thinking, it was just a random comment but that was the beginning of it all.
We started in a small industrial unit in Hunstanton, the Wrought Iron & Brass Bed Company was born. Like many other start-ups we faced challenges and learning curves along the way, but this all led to what we are today.
From our little unit we then found the most beautiful double fronted Victorian shop, only 5 minutes away from Sandringham. The quality of our beds spoke volumes and soon we made a real impact on our customers for our quality, which proved very popular. In no time at all we found ourselves advertising nationally and moving yet again along with our two sons, to a workshop hidden away in the small hamlet of Wolferton, on the Sandringham Estate and our showroom located in the Norfolk town of Swaffham.
All our beds are lovingly and expertly handcrafted, within our own workshop on the Royal Estate of Sandringham. Every member of our extended family plays a vital role in ensuring our beds meet the high standards of quality and making sure our customers receive an iron bed guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Our Beds
We support the local economy by purchasing nearly all the raw materials from the UK. This means we can reduce the impact on the environment and importantly avoid passing the shipping costs down to our customers. It also means we can visit our suppliers more frequently allowing us to consistently check quality and ensure every bed is made to the highest standards.
Our highest-quality iron and brass bars arrive at the workshop straight from the mill. They are then cut to size and each part is carefully welded together by hand, using a mixture of complex welding techniques. Wrought iron is a low-carbon option which is often selected as a preferred material due to its flexibility for ornate ironwork.

We offer such an extensive guarantee on all our beds so we must ensure that the raw materials we use will live up to our promise. As our family business has been built organically and sustainably, we have been able to ensure we support permanent jobs locally and within the UK, we are proud to say we have positively impacted the lives of our employees, suppliers and the local economy.

We’re honoured to hold a Royal Warrant of Appointment by Her Majesty The Queen. A mark of recognition to individuals and companies who have supplied goods or services to the Royal Household for the last five years. Given to us in 2021 because we have been a direct supplier of beds to the Royal household since 2013.
The Wrought Iron & Brass Bed Company stands out from other manufacturers, mainly because of our high standards of craftsmanship, quality, service and innovation. But also because we are an approved member of the guild of master craftsmen. We also hold the status as a carbon-neutral iron bed maker, with 100% renewable energy, and due to have zero net carbon emissions by 2030.
