Thorndale Furnishers Welcomes Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Co.
Exciting news! We are now stocked at Thorndale Furnishers in Hailsham.
This new partnership prioritises local suppliers, British craftsmanship, and sustainable materials for a supportive and comforting journey to the ultimate night’s sleep.
Based in Sussex, Thorndale Furnishers proudly boasts one of the largest furniture selections in the South East. The company is recognised for its efficient personal service and the expertise of its friendly staff.
Thorndale Furnishers’ history is tied to the local ropemaking industry of the 1800s, rooting their heritage in traditional craftsmanship. Now located on the site of one of Hailsham’s original ropemaking factories at Burfield Park, Thorndale Furnishers are drawing inspiration from their history of natural fibres with the launch of a new collection from Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Co. Shop Bertie and Victoria, wool mattresses and bedding.
As a family company situated on the Sandringham Estate, Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Co. is passionate about crafting bed frames that stand the test of time. We’re strongly committed to sustainable practices. Certified by Made in Britain and Carbon Neutral, our dedication to longevity and environmentally conscious production has been acknowledged by the prestigious Royal Warrant accolade.
Founded in 1985 by Malcolm and Jennifer Baker, Thorndale Furnishers quickly expanded and is today run by eldest daughter Louise. Similarly, Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Co. Founder Amanda Oldfield has taken a step back after 20 years. As she delves into the world of British wool as a shepherd, sons Harry and Jack head up production and marketing.
“We were delighted to be contacted by Louise to enhance their offering of well-made beds,” says Harry. “Thorndale Furnishers’ commitment to quality and recent step into organic fibres resonate with the origins and ethos of our own family-run business.”
Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Co.’s dedication to utilising sustainable raw materials for long-lasting British-made products will expand Thorndale Furnishers’ bed selection. It will bring focus to the benefits of handcrafted British materials and the natural fibres that are part of both brands’ stories.
Consumers are becoming more aware of the harmful impact of plastic pollution and man-made fibres, like memory foam, on the environment and our health. Partnerships such as this, encourage them to make choices which better their own wellbeing and that of our planet.
Our Natural Comfort and Sandringham Wool collections are handcrafted with 100% hand-teased British wool and hand-laid with organic fibres. These luxurious mattress collections offer a relaxing and soothing night’s sleep.
Natural fibres are breathable, hypoallergenic, and naturally regulate body temperature. With wool, you’ll keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Sheep’s fleece is a renewable source, sheared for the flock’s welfare and is biodegradable- unlike microfibre-shedding petrochemical fibres like polyester.
Alongside their pledge to provide products designed with longevity, restfulness, and sustainability in mind, both Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Co. and Thorndale Furnishers have a passion for providing tailor-made customer service.
From the showroom to that all-important night’s sleep, Thorndale Furnishers’ specialist service and Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Co.’s carefully handcrafted products champion a stress-free customer-centric experience.
This new partnership prioritises family values, high-quality craftsmanship, and promoting British materials. Visit Thorndale Furnishers and invest in a bed knowing you’re backing local businesses, local suppliers, and durable, sustainable British materials. You’ll receive a supportive and comfortable experience which will have you returning again and again.
