The No.1 is filled with a blend of hand-teased British wool fleece, cotton, horsetail, cashmere, and silk—premium natural fibres chosen for their exceptional softness, breathability, and resilience. These layers are built up using our time-honoured loose-fill hand-teased method, which allows the fibres to move freely and settle around the body. This enables you to truly nestle into the mattress, achieving a profound sense of comfort while maintaining essential spinal support.

At its centre lies a 3,500-count pocket spring unit (5ft model), engineered to deliver responsive, zoned support across the entire body. Each spring operates independently, reducing partner disturbance and allowing the mattress to cradle every contour with precision gently.

Encasing all of this is our British-woven wool ticking, a naturally fire-retardant, breathable fabric that is entirely chemical-free. Every component—from the organic detergent used to scour the fleece to the stitching thread—is free from synthetics or harsh treatments. Our wool is sourced directly from British farmers, who are paid fairly and above-market rates to ensure quality, sustainability, and long-term partnership.
